MISSION GROW

Mission Grow represents an effort to change the way of life in Africa by improving agricultural yields through education, funding and technological modernization.

What is Mission Grow?

OUR MISSION:

To use what God provided – the sun, the soil and the seed – to teach sustainable agricultural practices that will enable sub-subsistence farmers and their families to obtain food security and improved livelihoods.

Mission Grow works with Farm Input Promotions Africa (FIPS), a non-profit focusing on providing simple, effective agricultural solutions to rural Kenyans. Over the course of an eight year partnership with FIPS, Seeds of Change aims to reach a total of 487,260 beneficiaries and disburse 2,807,545 technology products.

In this photo, a Kenyan woman stands near corn cobs from before and after program implementation. The program has measured between 500% and 900% corn yield increases in project areas, and 200-300% legume yield increases.

One of the simple educational techniques taught through the project is to dye chicks purple. Doing so makes them unappealing to hawks and other predators. Farmers have reported a significant reduction in poultry loss since implementation of this practice.

"We can help each farm for a year for the price of a meal at McDonald's. That's just the beginning."
